Argentine musician Lumtz, from the mountainous lakeside city of Bariloche, releases his new instrumental album Tesoros ("Treasures") — his first full-length work in four years. The record consists of 16 tracks built from field recordings, personal notes, and fleeting moments from the artist's life between 2023 and 2025. The project was originally titled Las cosas que llevo en mi mochila ("The things I carry in my backpack"), but transformed into Tesoros during its creation, reflecting how accumulated memories and experiences came to feel like treasures rather than simply a burden.
The album functions as a sonic diary — an archive of walks, dialogues, notes, and small production experiments that accompanied Lumtz through an emotionally intense and often painful stretch of life, one in which light and direction gradually emerged nonetheless. Musically, the record leans on gentle loops, raw field recordings, and restrained, muted atmospheres: synthesizers mimic the chatter of parrots outside a window on "Libretas" (inspired by the artist's own notebooks — separate ones for drawing, therapy, and album ideas), while other tracks, like "Un puñado de ramas," reference photographs of branches and textures captured during hikes.
