The music project Jura Soundsystem, led by Kevin Griffiths, releases a six-track vinyl EP titled “Morning Star” on their own Temples Of Jura label. This release develops the ideas of the “Return to the Island” album (2022) and marks the project's tenth anniversary. Recorded in Australia, the material features a live, organic sound achieved by involving guest musicians, including guitarist Mike Burn, bassist Fernando Pulichino, and saxophonist Linda Fox. Conceptually, the work is inspired by the aesthetics of ritual incense and the theme of escape. The EP's sonic palette balances between melancholic guitar and horn lines, deep dub textures, dreamlike dub house, and dynamic 1980s-inspired electronics, complemented by instrumental versions of the key tracks.
