The Fool (Mareike Koger, Simon Posthuma, Yosche Leather, and Barry Finch) made pop culture history primarily as designers and artists, not as musicians. They created the iconic psychedelic costumes for The Beatles, painted the wall of their Apple Boutique, painted Eric Clapton's guitar (his famous Gibson SG "The Fool"), and designed the covers of The Incredible String Band and The Hollies.
Their own album, produced by the legendary Graham Nash (The Hollies, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), was an extension of their visual style—bright, naive, hippie, and utterly otherworldly.
The bulk of the album is a kaleidoscope of short, whimsical tracks. Songs like "Fly," "Rainbow Man," and "A Tale of a Two Knights" sound like medieval ballads filtered through the lens of late-'60s psychedelic experimentation.
