The sole album by the Argentine supergroup La Banda, recorded in 1979, presents a powerful blend of soul, jazz-rock, funk, and candombe. Founded by trumpeter Benny Izaguirre, the project brought together prominent musicians, including Uruguayan artist Rubén Rada, as well as veterans from ensembles led by Astor Piazzolla and Luis Alberto Spinetta. The record became a symbol of creative freedom in Buenos Aires during a period of severe political repression.
