French musician Boris Maurussane introduced his monumental solo album, Tears of English Town. The work is a multi-layered, cinematic showcase of orchestral pop impressionism. The record's texture seamlessly blends the influences of Brazilian bossa nova by Jobim, the avant-pop sensibilities of Robert Wyatt, The High Llamas, and Stereolab, alongside academic approaches to classical minimalism and impressionism.
