Presenting himself as a deliberately tacky East German caricature, rapper Finch garnered attention for his garish mix of tough rap, pop, and schlager choruses, techno beats, and low-brow humor. Finch launched an online channel in 2014 under the name Finch Asozial, releasing songs such as "Richtig saufen" or "Ostdeutscher Hasselhoff." His debut album, Dorfdisko, appeared in 2019, promptly reaching number two on the German charts. The follow-up, Finchi's Love Tape (2020), seamlessly continued the trashy concept. The rapper then shortened his name to just Finch and landed at the top of the charts with his next releases, Rummelbums (2022) and Dorfdisko zwei (2023). His fifth album, Schluss mit lustig (2025), another number one hit, showcased the rapper's more personal side along with his gaudy songs.

Finch was born on April 13, 1990, in Frankfurt (Oder), East Germany. After finishing school, he did an apprenticeship in mechanics before studying electrical engineering. He moved to Berlin in 2013 and became a participant in the battle rap show Rap am Mittwoch. As Finch Asozial, he launched an online channel in 2014 to present his songs. He quickly became known for his ironically tasteless caricature of an East German "white trash" guy, mixing crude humor with a flashy blend of techno, rap, schlager, a party mentality, and provocative lyrics.

Finch Asozial quickly rose to prominence in 2017 with singles such as "Richtig saufen," "Ledersklave Frederik," and "Ostdeutscher Hasselhoff." His first EP, Fliesentisch Romantik, was released in April 2018, followed in March 2019 by his debut album Dorfdisko, which reached number two on the German charts thanks to singles such as "Richtiger saufen" or "Abfahrt." After two more EPs, Vorglühen (2019) and Magic Moments (2020), Finch released his second album Finchi's Love Tape in February 2020, again reaching number two. Another EP, Fliesentisch Romantik II, followed in February 2021.

The rapper then decided to drop the "Asozial" part of his name and perform as Finch even though his musical approach didn't change. After the September 2021 EP Kassenhäuschen, Finch enjoyed his first number one success with his third album, Rummelbums, in February 2022. The album featured a duet with pop singer Blümchen, "Herzalarm," which reached number seven on the singles charts. Album number four, Dorfdisko zwei (2023), was an even bigger success, hitting number one and staying on the charts for 48 weeks. In February 2024, Finch topped the charts again with his single "One Night Stand," a collaboration with Katja Krasavice, Luca-Dante Spadafora, and Niklas Dee. His fifth album, Schluss mit lustig, another number one hit released in February 2025, added several more serious and personal songs to his typically entertaining mix.
