The German experimental dark folk project Brannten Schnüre reissues their 2015 album "Sommer Im Pfirsichhain," which serves as the second installment in a themed quartet of releases. The musical style of the duo, consisting of Christian Schoppik and Katie Rich, blends atonal folk, looped samples of vintage Greek rebetiko recordings, accordion, and Nico-esque spoken word, shaping a "German hauntology" aesthetic. Influenced by Schoppik’s parallel Dada cabaret project Agnes Beil, this particular record adopted more structured song forms and a sensual summer quality, enhanced by the featured female vocals.
