Tigerbalm's (Rose Robinson) second studio album, Bubblegum Discos, released on Ubiquity Records, represents an evolution of her signature nu-disco sound. The record prioritizes vocal tropical compositions over club instrumentals and is conceptually divided into two sections. The first half is inspired by Brazilian music, featuring elements of neo-boogie, samba-disco, and reggaeton, with contributions from Joy Tyson and Michele Charivarini. The second part explores African heritage, blending Afro-house, electro, and dub disco in collaboration with vocalists Andre Espeut, Waahli, and Idd Aziz. The album demonstrates the artist's creative growth, seamlessly integrating global rhythms, Italo-disco, and proto-house into a contemporary framework.
