"Murder Ballads Vol II: The Positive Reinforcement Campaign" is a project by Berlin-based composer Jessie Marino, developed in collaboration with the percussion trio Pinquins and bassist Inga Margrete Aas. The work serves as a synthesis of experimental folk, traditional American Sacred Harp hymns, and glitchy noise-drone elements. Through improvisation and a feminist lens, the artists reinterpret classic murder ballads, using them as a framework to critique the violence, greed, and brutality of the contemporary world. The project aims to challenge generic boundaries and redefine the performer's role within the context of current social discourse.

Guests Emilia Dorr (voice), Weston Olencki (trombone) and Wendy Eisenberg (guitar) further expand the already deliciously rich sonic palette, with idiosyncratic contributions to one track each.
