Guitarist Olaf Rupp has released an experimental album titled "Fuzzy Logic" on the Palilalia label, featuring a radical deconstruction of flamenco through the prism of free improvisation and sonic distortion. Instead of standard effects pedals, the musician utilized a unique technical setup consisting of a loop pedal, a modified micro-amplifier, and a sound-stretcher to create a fractured, fully overdriven sound. Incorporating classical Spanish guitar techniques such as picados and rasgueados, Rupp reinterprets the avant-garde traditions of Derek Bailey and Fred Frith. The result is a groundbreaking recording where the core artistic element is the author's mastery of distortion, which almost entirely obscures the underlying gitano musical forms.
