New Zealand band Leisure presents their fifth studio album, Welcome to the Mood, marking a transition to a more organic, live recording process with less reliance on electronic loops. Incorporating guest instrumentalists, including string and brass sections, expanded the album's sonic palette while preserving the band's signature laid-back soulful groove. Written in remote hideaways, the record pairs deeply personal, emotionally vulnerable lyrics about universal human experiences with a contrasting nostalgic yet futuristic soundscape. The visual concept and overarching philosophy of the project were heavily inspired by the architectural designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.
