"Trópico" is a landmark album by Peruvian pianist and arranger Lucho Macedo and his orchestra, Lucho Macedo y su Sonora, released in 1961 on the Discos MAG label. Lucho Macedo became a key figure in the adaptation of Cuban rhythms (such as guaracha, son montuno, pachanga, and cha-cha-cha) to Peru, drawing inspiration largely from the sound of the legendary Cuban band Sonora Matancera.
