The album's concept centers on the metaphor of the penumbra as a transitional, ambiguous space. The recording utilizes multi-track layering, with Faghihi performing all parts solo, including various clarinets, shruti box, percussion, and electronics. The music is characterized by a deliberate, unhurried pace, languid tones, and a balance between the consonant voice of the clarinet and the dissonant accompaniment, offering the listener a subtle and deeply thoughtful non-idiomatic improvisation.
