The 10th disc from this stellar artist, NeGrass (pronounced "KNEE-grass") is a collection of original and traditional Negro spirituals, field hollers and bluegrass music. This is inspired work - Laura's imagined history of how it might have been for her grandparents as they were being released from slavery and stepping into a free, yet uncertain, life. This joyful & heartbreaking story comes to life through Laura's soulful vocals with help from Tim O'Brien, Tracy Nelson, Barbara Lamb, Scott Vestal, Jeff Autry, Rob Ickes, Mike Bub and Alice Vestal.
