Elvis Sings The Mad Professor is a themed compilation released in 2022. The nickname "The Mad Professor" refers to composer Ben Weissman. Elvis Presley jokingly nicknamed Ben Weissman "The Mad Professor" because he constantly brought him new demos (sometimes dozens at a time) and always seemed extremely focused on his work. Thus, the title is a tribute to their long-standing collaboration. The album is dedicated entirely to songs written for Elvis by Ben Weissman, who wrote more songs for "The King" (54 in total) than any other composer. The disc includes rare and alternate takes of songs recorded between 1956 and 1962. The project was initially released in a limited edition of 1,500 copies on Crystal Clear Picture Disc vinyl for Record Store Day 2021. An expanded CD edition was later released.
