Far from being the "king of the ignorant," as he calls himself.

You can listen to his early hits, from "Il tuo bacio è come un rock," which reminds us of his first major victory at the Ancona Festival, to "Impazzivo per te," from "Fure," to "Piccola," and "Ritorna lo Shimmy" (the latter two recorded with Anita Traversi, his ideal partner). Walter Guertler, owner of Jolly, was instrumental in Celentano's success by convincing him to perform new Italian songs rather than continue focusing on rock 'n' roll covers.

After recording ten songs in English as the lead singer of a group led by Eraldo Volontè, a talented jazz musician, Adriano abandoned his imitations of Elvis Presley and other American artists to pursue a unique path. He relied on the team of songwriters and composers provided by his record company, building on his great success.
