Testimonial (album)
Testimonial is the final studio album by the Australian progressive rock band Spectrum and its alter-ego project, Indelible Murtceps. Released in July 1973 on the Harvest label (EMI), it represents a unique "two-in-one" work by Mike Rudd and Bill Putt.
Structure and Style
The album is conceptually divided into two stylistic parts, reflecting the dual nature of the band's repertoire:
Day Side (Indelible Murtceps): Features upbeat, funky Boogie Rock and Pub Rock. Characterized by high energy, piano-driven arrangements, and standout tracks such as "The Indelible Shuffle" and "Ray's Boogie".
Night Side (Spectrum): A deep, atmospheric Progressive Rock experience with psychedelic undertones. It features complex song structures and the monumental 10-minute track "Essay In Paranoia".
