El Fascinante Mundo De La Música Electrónica is the Spanish-titled 2018 digital reissue by RevOla of the landmark album originally released on Dutch Philips around 1962–1963. The duo of Tom Dissevelt and Dick Raaijmakers (a.k.a. Kid Baltan) met at the Philips NatLab research facility in Eindhoven, where they composed using test oscillators, tape recorders, and filters, splicing layers of tape to fuse jazz-derived rhythm with laboratory electronics. Their output included "Song of the Second Moon," widely regarded as one of the very first electronic pop records ever made, produced in a matter of days and initially distributed as a promotional single to laboratory visitors. The album draws together material recorded between 1957 and 1961, the majority of which had previously appeared on Philips singles and EPs; the sole previously unreleased piece, Raaijmakers's "Pianoforte," occupies a place alongside Pierre Schaeffer's investigations into musique concrète. David Bowie listed the album among his all-time twenty-five favourites in 2003. The Spanish-language presentation of the 2018 edition pays homage to an early Argentine pressing of the same title, lending the reissue a particular archival resonance.
