This Burning Sounds re-issue of the original album by The Viceroys is released on 180-gram vinyl and CD, including comprehensive sleeve notes.
The Viceroys were a Jamaican reggae vocal group formed in the late 1960s. Their lineup consisted of Wesley Tinglin, Neville Ingram, and Daniel Bernard, along with musicians such as Robert 'Robbie' Shakespeare on bass, Carlton 'Carlie' Barrett on drums, and Ansel 'Pinkie' Collins on keyboards. Lead Guitar was played by Radcliffe 'Dougie' Bryan & Bertram 'Ranchie' McLean, Rhythm Guitar by Radcliffe 'Dougie' Bryan and Eric 'Bingy Bunny' Lamont, and Percussion by Noel 'Zoot'/ 'Scully' Simms.
The album was recorded at Channel One and produced by Phil Pratt. They gained popularity with their harmonious vocal style and catchy melodies. One of their most famous songs is "Heart Made of Stone," which became a hit in Jamaica and internationally. They recorded songs that reflected the social and political issues of the time. Their music continues to be celebrated among reggae enthusiasts for its soulful harmonies and uplifting messages.
