Singer-songwriter butaji has crafted powerful melodies and words that reach audiences across the nation with his exceptional songwriting. He has collaborated with STUTS on "Presence," the theme song for the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama "Omaeda Towako and Her Three Ex-Husbands," and timelesz's "Summer Ride." He also collaborated with STUTS and YONCE (Suchmos, Hedigan's) on "Mirage," the theme song for the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama "Elpis." Butaji has now completed his first full-length album since 2021, "Thoughts of You." He has long been captivated by the music of the era when the legendary jazz pianist and singer Nat King Cole shaped popular music. Butaji's rich arrangements, which gently embrace the listener while evoking the breath of life, are a source of inspiration for his songwriting, and he hopes to preserve them for the present. Furthermore, in an age where everything becomes visible at a rapid pace, we wanted to deliver music that can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. This desire was the starting point for the production of this album. As a result, a large number of musicians came together for this album, each carefully shaping butaji's music through their own performances. Centered around band performances, the album combines a contemporary band sound with a nostalgia for that era, and string arrangements to create a warm singer-songwriter album. Evoking the textures of pop and singer-songwriter works from the 1950s and 1960s, butaji's unique melodies and lyrics, which also reflect his love of 1990s J-Pop, offer us, living in 2026, time to breathe and pause for a moment.
