"Bicentenario" is the eleventh studio album by the cult Peruvian band Voz Propia, released in late 2021. As pioneers of the "Rock Subterráneo" movement in Lima since the 1980s, the band crafted this work as a critical reflection on the socio-political state of Peru during its bicentennial year. Musically, the album stays true to their darkwave and post-punk roots, blending melancholic synth textures with sharp guitar lines and the deep, evocative vocals of Miguel Ángel Vidal. The lyrical themes range from personal existential dread to biting social commentary and a historical analysis of national identity.
