Released in February 2026 to coincide with Black History Month, this EP offers a contemporary reimagining of James Brown's 1968 civil rights anthem "Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud." The project bridges the gap between classic funk and modern electronic music. The lead remix by techno pioneer Carl Cox recontextualizes Brown's powerful vocals within a house and techno framework, maintaining the original's urgency and cultural weight. The inclusion of a remix by Jason Corgan Brown, the grandson of the Godfather of Soul, adds a significant multi-generational dimension to the release. Complemented by the original 1968 studio version and a rare 1969 live recording from Augusta, the EP serves as a sonic dialogue between history and the modern dancefloor.
