Ferenc Vizi's fascinating journey into the world of Liszt, From Dawn to Dusk, is his second album on Paraty, dedicated entirely to Franz Liszt. Conceived like a daily arc, it begins with the Lullaby, p. 198, and ends with En rêve, p. 207 (1885). At the center is the Sonata in B minor, p. 178, which traces a path of light and shadow, while the Seven Brilliant Variations on a theme by Rossini, p. 149 / R. 28, enter into a dialogue with the Grand galop chromatique, p. 219. Also included are L'Idée fixe, p. 395: Andante amoroso after a melody by Berlioz, Au bord d'une source (Années de pèlerinage I, p. 160) and Harmonies poétiques et religieuses I, p. 154 (1834). Inspired by Tagore, this journey invites us to discover Liszt's thematic metamorphosis and the dramatic tension between lullaby, variations, sonata and nocturne.
