Founded in 2013, the ORED Recordings label is dedicated to preserving the traditional music of the North Caucasus through authentic field recordings. Creators Bulat Khalilov and Timur Kodzoko employ a DIY-punk ethnomusicology approach, contrasting it with classical academic standards. The label's activities carry a significant political dimension, fostering dialogue between conflicting ethnic groups and revitalizing historical memory in the 21st century. The collaboration with the TAL label has resulted in the release of the "Music from the Caucasus" anthology, marking the first time these unique materials have been made available on physical and digital formats.
