"Water Map" is the collaborative achievement of two virtuous guitarists, Dustin Wong and Gregory Uhlmann. The album presents a delicate weaving of two distinct approaches to the instrument: Wong’s signature complex, kaleidoscopic looping structures and Uhlmann’s improvisational, textural style. The material was developed in Los Angeles, where the musicians sought to capture live interaction and "telepathic" mutual understanding. The music is filled with lightness and light, mimicking the fluidity of water and natural landscapes, as reflected in the track titles. The album avoids strict genre boundaries, balancing between neoclassical, minimalism, and experimental indie.
