In 1996, Irish-born Patrick Murphy formed a band to play at the Celtic-themed pub where he worked in Santa Monica, California. A year later, Murphy's band was hired to play the Irish band performing for the steerage passengers in the blockbuster movie Titanic, and soon Gaelic Storm grew from being a promising local act to a group with international recognition, winning fans with their full-bodied blend of Celtic folk, world music, and contemporary folk-rock. A hard working band who've played over 3,000 live dates, Gaelic Storm released six albums between 2004 and 2013, and Full Irish: The Best of Gaelic Storm 2004-2014 includes a sampling of fan favorites from those albums, along with four unreleased tracks, including "Irish Party in Third Class," the song they wrote and performed for Titanic.
