The 1979 album Disco Hanagasa Ondo / Sōma Bon Uta +1, released by the Japanese label King Records, constitutes a unique work by the Memphis-based band Ebonee Webb. The record fuses American funk and soul with traditional Japanese folk melodies (Minyo), demonstrating a rare cross-cultural synthesis utilizing disco-jazz arrangements.
