Muhal Richard Abrams, George Lewis, Roscoe Mitchell - Streaming (2006)
The album Streaming (2006) represents a historic recording by a trio of founders of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM): pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, trombonist George Lewis, and saxophonist Roscoe Mitchell. Marking Abrams' debut on the Pi Recordings label, the release demonstrates a unique approach to music creation based on the concept of "open improvisation." Unlike chaotic "free" improvisation, this method relies on profound mutual trust, the rejection of prior agreements (regarding tempo or structure), and the collective construction of musical space. The album's compositions are characterized by complex textures, attention to silence, and the spontaneous development of dialogue between participants whose collaboration spans several decades.

Muhal Richard Abrams - piano, bell, bamboo flute, taxi horn, percussion
George Lewis - trombone, laptop
Roscoe Mitchell - soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, percussion
