There are reunions that trade on nostalgia, and then there are reunions that refuse it entirely. Henry Now belongs firmly in the second category. When these four musicians - the founding core of Henry Cow - stepped onto the stage in Piacenza on November 18, 2022, they weren't there to recreate their past. They were there to improvise the present, bringing fifty years of accumulated experience to bear on music that had never existed before and would never exist again in quite the same form.
