Drummer Juuso Raatikainen, better known from the field of rock and heavy music, surprises with fresh, sometimes prog-infused jazz fusion, whose overall appearance is serene and hopefully melancholic. The lineup includes Finnish jazz professionals, Lauri Kallio (Pambikallio, Jimi Tenor), Henri Mäntylä (Nina Mya, Pete Parkkonen Jazz Orchestra), Juuso Rinta (Anabasís, Tuomo Uusitalo Trio) and of course Juuso Raatikainen, who is responsible for the compositions, and is known, among others, as the drummer for Emma-winning Swallow the Sun.

"The idea of ​​making an album like this has been simmering for a long time, and eventually the need became greater than my doubts about my own abilities. Luckily, I got the musicians I had originally thought would interpret these songs. The name of the project, Kaipuu, can refer to many things; creation, time, place, person or mood. The basis of each composition is a state of mind in a certain time or place, which is more or less missed or otherwise treated nostalgically," says Raatikainen.
