Smoked Salmon is a concept, a collection of recordings, a collective, a philosophy of least resistance leaded by Kim Salmon.
It has an international cast of around a dozen members, different players for different locations - Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Tokyo and Paris.
Smoked Salmon has played all over Australia, stormed through France (sharing the stage with Warren Ellis and Kid Congo Powers) and launched a blitzkrieg tour of Japan.
_______
After departing from the lo-fi psychedelic antics of the Scientists, Kim Salmon moved on to a solo career in 1998 with his backing band the Business. Not to be confused with the seminal British Oi! band, Salmon and company sport their three-piece suits with a soulful harmony of power pop. Salmon debuted in 1999 with the single "Saving Me from Me" on Half-a-Cow Records. His full-length entitled Record followed that same year. ~ Mike DaRonco
