Following on from "HAYABUSA JET I," released in March 2025 and generating significant buzz, a second album has been released. "HAYABUSA JET Ⅰ (Hayabusa Jet Second)" is Motoharu Sano & The Coyote Band's second album of 2025.
Sano is always seeking new musical expression, and the theme of the "HAYABUSA JET" series was "Redefining Motoharu Classics." The album was created with the aim of presenting his classics to a new generation.
While "HAYABUSA JET I" primarily redefined songs from the 1980s, the new album, "HAYABUSA JET II," features many songs with powerful messages that resonate across generations.
Like the previous album, classic songs that have inspired and encouraged many young people are revived in a modern style. Underlying this is Sano's strong determination not to let nostalgia alone prevail. By making his lyrics and performances as relevant as possible to the present, he aims to appreciate the true value of his songs regardless of the listener's generation. Sano's frequent phrase in recent years, "For future generations," embodies his current feelings.
Regarding his second album, "HAYABUSA JET II," Sano says, "I was happy that 'HAYABUSA JET I' reached not only my existing fans, but also a new generation of music listeners. Like 'I,' I approached this album with the intention of creating a new work."
Coyote Band's performances highlight the essence of the songs even more than the originals, creating a more robust sound. Recording engineer Shojiro Watanabe, who has supported Sano's sound for many years, handled the mastering work, handled by UK renowned master Matt Colton.
Motoharu Sano celebrates his 45th anniversary since his debut and 20th anniversary since the formation of Coyote Band. The pioneering spirit he has maintained since his debut remains strong. "We won't let nostalgia alone dominate." Sano's voice can be heard throughout the album.
