The music for Iokaste was created for the production at Schauspiel Graz. This album presents the stage compositions in distilled form: an atmospheric interplay of piano and abstract electronic sound worlds.
Detuned strings, synthetic choirs, distorted electronic drums and processed field recordings shape a sonic environment that is both fragile and tense.
At its core are the sirens: field recordings of sirens, granulated, layered, and stretched into drifting harmonic textures. These siren layers form a continuous thread throughout the score—sometimes barely present, sometimes taking over the entire space—shifting in color, harmony, and density from scene to scene.
Blending piano, electronic textures, and real-world noise sources, the album explores emotional and atmospheric states, tracing a journey through density, suspension, and quiet unease.
