Swimming Pool Orchestra is a conceptual collaboration between Italian free jazz legend Mario Schiano and composer Tommaso Vittorini. Although the title implies an orchestra, it is actually a multi-instrumental duo project where both musicians play a wide array of instruments (saxophones, piano, accordion, bass, drums, and vocals), creating a dense and eclectic sound. The music features an eccentric blend of free jazz, theatrical improvisation, and deconstructed classic standards. This reissue under the aegis of Kepach Music brings this rare release back from the Dischi Della Quercia archives, preserving the spirit of the early 80s Italian experimental scene.

The third of the "show-records" created by Schiano and Vittorini. The story: two musicians are shut inside a dilapidated recording studio, where a technician is trying to fix the leaking water pipes. While waiting, the two musicians rehearse and argue, until the studio floods and the record can no longer be made.
