"The Bathing of the Widows - Gahu 2025" is a digital single released on October 31, 2025, by Swedish percussionist and composer Bengt Berger as part of his ambitious Cool Funeral Beer project. The single is the first, 14-minute long piece that will be included in the forthcoming album "Cool Funeral Beer 2: The Bathing of the Widows". The composition, recorded with the Cool Funeral Beer ensemble, features guest artists including Thomas Gustafsson, Goran Klinghagen, Lisen Rylander-Löve, Signe Dahlgren, and Livet Nord. This work is an experimental jazz piece with ethnic influences, inspired by the West African musical style "Gahu" and serving as a musical interpretation of the mourning and purification ritual, which signifies intense dancing and expression of emotions following a loss.
