"Transcendent Phoenix" is the debut symphonic album by Lucina Yue, released in July 2025, dedicated to the revival and modern interpretation of the ancient Chinese harp, the konghou. Mastered by multi-Grammy-winning engineer Alan Silverman, the album represents a fusion of 2,000-year-old Chinese classical tradition with modern innovation, reflecting the myth of the phoenix (Honghu). The 8 epic tracks, created by composers spanning generations and cultures, and featuring a world-class ensemble (including cellists from the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera), combine elements of Chinese classical music, Chan meditation, and powerful film-score energy. A proprietary microphone technique was developed to capture the konghou's ethereal resonance. The album is not only a technical showcase of the instrument but also its artistic transcendence, establishing Lucina Yue as a leading ambassador and trailblazer in the globalization of the konghou.
