Aziza Mustafa Zadeh - Seventh Truth (1996)

There are twelve songs on "Seventh truth" by pianist / singer Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, who for this album chose songs that go more towards folk music than jazz. Last year she was a revelation at the North Sea Jazz Festival. "Seventh truth" is more introverted than her previous CD "Dance of fire". This time her serene singing and piano playing is only accompanied by the Indian percussionist Ramesh Shotam. With "Seventh truth" a link is clearly made to other musical worlds than that of jazz alone. Among others: "Ay dilber", "Fly with me", "Daha ...
