Agustin Pereyra Lucena - Ese Dia Va A Llegar (2025) [Hi-Res]

Agustin Pereyra Lucena - Ese Dia Va A Llegar (2025) [Hi-Res]
Agustín Pereyra Lucena, an outstanding guitarist from Buenos Aires, abandoned architecture studies for music, becoming a key figure in South American music with a strong influence from Brazilian genres. He earned friendships and collaborations with many of Brazil's greatest musicians, including Vinicius de Moraes, who highly praised his connection to his instrument, Baden Powell, and Toquinho. His 1975 album, Ese Dia Va A Llegar (also known as Brasiliana), recorded with Guillermo Reuter and Carlos Carli, captures a blissfully laid-back session featuring idiosyncratic renditions of classics by Antonio Carlos Jobim and others, alongside his own mystical compositions. The recording, made at Estudios Audión in Buenos Aires, has a warm analog feel, where Lucena's gentle voice is complemented by Laura Hatton, Luis Maria Cosenza, and Patricia Scheuer's vocals. Lucena's legacy is being maintained by his nephew, Jose Luis Pereyra Lucena, who has entrusted Far Out Recordings to professionally remaster and re-release his works from the original master tapes.
