The metal band Galactic Empire, known for their instrumental covers of Star Wars themes, released their fourth studio album, Cinemetal, on Pure Noise Records on October 24, 2025. With this release, the band expands their repertoire to include their signature metal style applied to music from other popular film franchises, including Harry Potter, Back To The Future, Lord Of The Rings, Batman, and Avengers. The band's Lord Sihk explained that after three albums dedicated to John Williams and Star Wars, they decided to explore other iconic themes from film history. Producers Grant McFarland and Carson Slovak noted that the album, which they consider the most complex and layered arrangement they have ever tackled, was challenging but immensely satisfying. Galactic Empire, whose popularity grew following the viral success of their first music video and a live TV performance, also announced a US tour, including headlining shows and an appearance on the S.S. Neverender cruise with Coheed and Cambria in November.
