CV Vision has released his sixth studio album, "Release The Beast," a follow-up to "Im Tal der Stutzer," which explores a blend of psych rock, Detroit techno, fried synths, black metal, and library music. Collaborating again with Swedish drummer Uno Bruniusson, CV Vision returned to using two patched-up, "Frankenstein-style" reel-to-reel tape machines to achieve a unifying, rougher sound for the album's varied styles. The fourteen tracks showcase the full spectrum of his musical universe. Opening tracks combine harmonies with raw magnetic hiss, while 'Dungeon Drums I, II, III' incorporates acid, early Detroit techno, and even black metal elements with a krautrock twist. The second half features instrumental jams like 'Nikita's Tune' and 'It's K-Jazz,' which nod to psychedelic soul, alongside bluesy, motorik, folky, and heavy guitar tracks. The album's title and cover art, depicting a boarded-up stairwell entrance, symbolize the conclusion of a chaotic but ultimately fruitful creative process rather than just "letting out inner demons."
