Shika Shika has released "A Guide to the Birdsong of Migration," the fourth volume in its "A Guide to the Birdsong" series. This unique music project combines bird calls with the work of nine migratory artists from eight countries across the Americas, including Mas Aya & Lido Pimienta, Valesuchi, Biomigrant, Diana Gameros, and others. The album explores the shared themes of migration, where the artists' journeys, their stories of resilience, and creating a new home are mirrored by the long-distance flights of birds like the Canada Warbler, Rufa Red Knot, and Sandhill Crane. According to project founder El Buho (Robin Perkins), music, like the birds, knows no boundaries and conveys stories of longing, belonging, and overcoming hardship. Since the launch of the first volume in 2015, the "A Guide to the Birdsong" series has made a significant impact on conservation efforts, raising over $100,000 for bird preservation and achieving over 3 million streams.
