Paravane - Forever Is a Long Time Ago (2025)

Paravane is the extension of the Dutch progressive rock band Nice Beaver. A change of personnel favored this new name, but their music, it, has not changed. The band members, Hans Gerritse (guitar, vocals), Erik Groeneweg (keyboards, vocals), Erwin Scheijgrond (bass) and Ferry Zonneveld (drums) offer us on their new album ‘Forever Is A Long Time Ago’ a prog music with retro accents.

Six tracks of pure progressive rock mainly influenced by bands like Yes, Transatlantic or Spock's Beard. Listen to the title track "Forever Is a Long Time Ago" or "Miserable with You", the longest of the album (more than 9 minutes), epic pieces, with variegated musical parts where the guitarist Hans Gerritse demonstrates all his talent in stunning solos. Compositions that would perfectly find their place on any album of the aforementioned formations. Another highlight of 'Forever Is A Long Time Ago' is the magnificent "home" with a Cantabrian atmosphere where we will find over the course of listening some Caravan zests.
