For its tenth anniversary, the band La Tène is releasing a new album, Moreïne/Déclives, which marks an important stage in their creative work. In this record, the collective moves away from its signature instrument—the hurdy-gurdy—in favor of electronic percussion and dub techniques. This change was prompted by the fact that one of the members, Alexis Degrenier, can no longer play the instrument. The album continues the exploration of hypnotic drone and musical repetition but now blends traditional sounds with electronic textures, creating a soundscape that is simultaneously archaic and futuristic. This record is also a farewell for Alexis Degrenier, concluding a significant cycle in the band's history and serving as both a culmination and a promise for the future.
