Royce Campbell - Vagabond (2025)

Guitarist and composer Royce Campbell teams up with director Terry Vosbein and trumpeter Chris Magee to put together a collection of fresh originals and clever read of a standard. The 5 reed, four trumpet, four trombone, and three rhythm team give an impressionistic support to a cirrus-clouded take of “Body and Soul” while the reeds blow cool and easy on “Middle Ground”. The brass punches like a heavyweight during the sweaty “Mambo Puente” and the woodwinds get into a noir atmosphere on “”A Sharp Blues”.
