New Sounds is the debut album by American R&B duo Mickey & Sylvia (guitarist Mickey Baker and singer Sylvia Vanderpool, later Sylvia Robinson). Originally released in 1957 on Vik Records, it was digitally reissued in 2015 by Legacy Recordings.
The album captures the duo’s playful vocal interplay and Baker’s sharp guitar work, blending rhythm & blues, early rock & roll, doo-wop, and touches of calypso.
