Having been teased for some months now, the epic melding of "organic ambient textures with emotionally charged post-rock soundscapes" from celebrated composers Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman is finally officially announced. Following singles Immaru and Sentio, the pair - in conjunction with the mighty Loop Recordings - have unveiled Traces, a sprawling instrumental collection that "unfolds like the soundtrack to an unmade film". - Flying Out
Loop are proud to present Traces, the first collaborative album from two of Aotearoa's most celebrated composers, Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman. Rhian Sheehan has established himself as a multi-award-winning musician and screen composer over the past two decades and Arli Liberman has fast become one of NZ’s most in-demand composers and musicians. The album is an instrumental journey, blending electronic, ambient and post-rock soundscapes to create a unique sound. Combining the atmospheric, Middle Eastern-influenced guitar playing and production skills of Arli Liberman with Rhian Sheehan’s haunting use of modular soundscapes and studio instruments. Traces transports listeners into a dreamscape that feels both futuristic and nostalgic, distant and familiar — like a forgotten past or an undiscovered future — creating an immersive, yet intimate cinematic experience that unfolds like the soundtrack to an unmade film.
