"Kimatika" is the second album from the Slovenian trio Etceteral. The album's title refers to cymatics, the study of visible forms of sound and vibration. The music on the record is a bold, hybrid sound where free improvisation and free jazz elements (represented by saxophone and drums) collide with the pulsating rhythms of electronic club music, such as techno, jungle, and industrial. The trio, consisting of a saxophonist, a drummer, and an electronics player (synths, samplers, drum machines), creates a dense and hypnotic sonic tapestry. "Kimatika" explores the interplay between acoustic and electronic timbres, forging a futuristic and ritualistic musical experience.
