"Singing Bass" is a solo album by the British-Indian composer and virtuoso bass player, Shri (Shrikanth Sriram). The album's central concept is to present the fretless bass guitar not as an accompanying instrument, but as a lead, "singing" voice. Shri employs a unique playing technique, mimicking the phrasing and melismas (ornamentations) characteristic of Indian classical vocals on his bass.
