666.667 Club is the fifth studio album by French rock band Noir Désir, released in 1996. Marking a shift toward a calmer sound compared to its predecessor, the album emphasizes lyrical depth, alternating between intimate reflections and politically or socially charged themes that solidified the band’s reputation as socially engaged artists. The album remains the group’s most commercially successful release. Its title stems from a playful contest among the band members to see who could play the fastest on a keyboard, all reaching 666 bpm—thus, the idea of the “club,” with 667 added to avoid being limited to the Number of the Beast.
