Leading the charge is Mshelula, aka Mr. Obvious, a 17-year-old artist already making serious noise as a beatmaker, producer, and singer. He joins forces with Man Kayy, Strous Mambisa, Darkiie Omnyama, and a roster of featured artists from the communities of Tembisa and Ivory Park (Johannesburg). Together, they create a genre that blends sounds inspired by Gqom and Amapiano with anthem-like melodies, embodying the energy and creativity of a new generation of South African Skhothanes. For Mshelula, the title Chaos United refers to a sense of unity and togetherness emerging from chaos, a name for a project where young artists turn turbulence into vision and sound.
